Our mission

Metis: sharing emotions, creating transformations

What if we harnessed the power of the arts to address the great challenges of our time?

Environment, health, education, employment, peace, gender equality, food security, energy… The Metis Fund – Arts & Development works toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Our uniqueness: in addition to essential yet insufficient technical solutions, we leverage the arts as an emotional catalyst for individual and collective transformation.

‘We are artists. We are the voices of the voiceless. We have an obligation to denounce, to raise awareness but also to educate through our arts.’

Priscilla Martinez

‘I think this Metis project makes us feel that our lives have meaning. I was very inspired, and then it inspired the neighbours who helped me and kept going.’

Our impact

From emotions to the world

By using the arts to address our most sensitive aspects, Metis strengthens the willingness and ability of its partners to learn, to take ownership of the sustainable development issues that concern them, and to take action in response.

Our actions generate transformations on an individual and collective scale.
